YEM was founded in Athens, Greece by two engineers after a trip to Lesvos, when the big wave of refugees overran the Greek island\u2019s shores in December of 2015.<\/p>\n
After Lesvos\u2019 visit, they started their volunteering journey, taking several trips to refugee camps found across the Greek Mainland.<\/p>\n
Years went by, and despite their efforts there was only so much they could achieve, and so they expanded their labors by founding YEM as a Non-Profit Organization in 2020.<\/p>\n

Asma is finishing a Master in Humanitarian Action at the University of Malta and she is currently working as a Project Officer at a German Organization. Serina is a Medical Engineer from Palestine with a BSc and MSc in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering from London obtained by 2020.
She has research experience in both laboratory and educational institutes.
